Parma: M5S suspends Pizzarotti

The 5 Star Movement has decided to suspend Federico Pizzarotti. The news was announced by Beppe Grillo who, through his blog, communicated that: “Federico Pizzarotti is suspended from the 5-star movement. Transparency is the first duty of the administrators and spokespersons of the 5 Star Movement. Only yesterday was news of the guarantee notice received in the press, but the mayor had been aware of it for months ".

The mayor of Parma and the Councilor for Culture Laura Ferraris are under investigation for abuse of office due to the appointment of Anna Maria Meo as general director of the Teatro Regio and Barbara Minghetti as consultant for development and special projects. Three other members of the board of directors of the Fondazione Teatro Regio have been entered in the register of suspects for the same crime.

Grillo also let it be known that the Movement had asked the mayor for a copy of the guarantee notice which, however, never reached its destination. “Having taken note of the total lack of transparency that has been going on for months, in the impossibility of an in-depth and objective evaluation of the documents and to protect the name and reputation of the 5-star Movement, the suspension was proceeded. We do not wait for the sentences to make a political judgment”.
