Parma-Inter, the play-off for the nerazzurri

The playoff goes to Inter. And perhaps also the qualification for the Europa League, still mathematically uncertain but ever closer. After Genoa, the Nerazzurri also conquered Parma proving once again to be better away than at home. There are many similarities with Marassi's match, despite a less rounded result. Like last Sunday, Inter must thank Samir Handanovic, true man of the match for the Tardini, and like in Genoa, it remains to be understood why there are so many jumps in performance within the same match. Mazzarri's team exalts themselves in difficulties, managing to stay on their feet right in the most difficult moment, then, when the situation seems to be going downhill, life gets complicated again. “We don't know how to manage the result well, but we have several young players on the pitch who need to grow up – explained the Inter coach. – We were ahead in numbers for the entire second half, we should have scored the second goal earlier." True, however, as it is true that Inter celebrate Easter with a very important success, perhaps fundamental for their season. Debunking the Tardini taboo (no victory since 2008) was not a formality, on the contrary. Right from the start Parma pressed and came close to scoring through Cassano, whose header was deflected by the amazing Handanovic. The Nerazzurri retaliated with Icardi (27') but his shot from an excellent position went wide. The match is beautiful, intense and reaches its peak towards the end of the first half.

In the 44th minute Samuel spreads Parolo in the area and Rocchi concedes the penalty: Cassano goes on the spot for the former's most classic goal, but Handanovic, again him, repeats last week's miracle on Maxi Lopez, deflecting the shot onto the post. Inter narrowly escaped the danger and a minute later came close to taking the lead through Cambiasso, but here too the wood from Tardini said no. However, it is understood that the goal, for both of us of course, is in the air and that the match will be won by the one who does it first. And the Nerazzurri are first on the joust, who see the turning point at the start of the second half (46'). Paletta, already cautioned, knocks Palacio down and is rightfully sent off. From the ensuing free-kick Hernanes caught Rolando all alone in the area, for a header that left Mirante no way out. But the 0-1 in numerical inferiority does not bring down Parma, which on the contrary makes itself dangerous several times. But when Lucarelli hits the crossbar (56 ') to beat Handanovic Donadoni understands that it's not a day for him. As the minutes went by, Inter managed the match better and blocked it at the end (89'), when Guarin, who had just come on for Hernanes, threw a ball into the net from outside the area. So it ends 0-2, a very heavy victory for Mazzarri's men, who now have a 5-point lead over Milan with 4 games to go. One will be the derby, it's true, but the path to the Europa League now seems better than tracked.
