MPs, here's how much they earn: Berlusconi the richest

Silvio Berlusconi there is no crisis. The former prime minister wins hands down the ranking of tax returns of parliamentarians, announced today. If 2011 was certainly not a positive year from the point of view of political life, the same certainly cannot be said for the private affairs of the Knight. The declared income (relating to 2010) was 48 million euros, approximately 17% more than the 40,8 million of the previous declaration. There are no major variations in real estate assets or holdings in companies. The only real investment is sta the villa of Lampedusa which Berlusconi bought during the refugee crisis last June. After the hasty public announcement of the purchase, complete with fanfare and some hesitation following the visit, Villa Due Palme appears today in Berlusconi's estate.

From one Prime Minister to another. Mario Monti declared 1,5 million euros. Among the real estate properties, the professor boasts numerous properties between Milan and Varese, in addition to his residence in Brussels. As for cars, the sober Professor appreciates the retro taste of a '95 Lancia Dedra and a '98 Lancia K.

Among the party leaders in first place is placed Fini, president of the Chamber, with a declared taxable income of 200.000 euros, which remains 20.000 euros detached from its counterpart in Palazzo Madama, Schifani. Following Antonio Di Pietro with 182.000 euros, who dedicated himself to the purchase of land in the Brescia area, Angelino Alfano with 170.000 euros. Bersani e Rutelli are around 130.000 euros. While the most Franciscan of leaders is Casini, with 116.000 euros. The leader of the UDC was active in 2010 in the stock market: Unicredit shares are out of the portfolio, Intesa-San Paolo shares are in the portfolio.

It's not going badly Lusi, who declared just over 300.000 euros. The former treasurer of the Margherita, as expected, has not included the 13 million euros which he is accused of having taken possession of. Lusi is also the majority shareholder of the publishing company of the party newspaper Europa, as well as having renewed its fleet by selling a Mercedes and a Lancia and buying a 500.

For those wishing to consult the complete list of MPs' incomes, the doors will be open from 10 to 19, at the Prerogatives and Immunity Service, on the second floor of the Palazzo dei Gruppo, via Uffici del Vicario 21, in Rome. Surely you won't create files to consult the logs, but it's comforting that the possibility exists. After all, democracy has its costs.
