Paris: skyrocketing house prices

The price of Parisian real estate continues to rise. All the apartments sparkle: in this second quarter the threshold of 8.000 euros per square meter has been exceeded.
This is the estimate disclosed today by the notaries of the Ile de France, the Paris region. “The magic of our city continues to have an effect, well beyond the French borders, and couples, often helped by their families, are ready to sacrifice more than 40% of their salary, to be allocated to a mortgage, to have the joy of reside in the capital,” explained Christian Lefebvre, president of the Notarial Chamber of Ile-de-France.
If young people confirm the attachment of the French to the "brick", it is also true that the demand for real estate by foreigners has increased. The Italians who are the first buyers of apartments in the French capital could not be missing.
Real estate prices in Paris grew by 5,6% in the second quarter compared to the previous one. On an annual basis, the leap forward was as much as 20,8%, the highest since the boom in the 80s.
Only the 19th arrondissement is still below the 6.000 euro per m² threshold. Instead the 1st, 4th, 6th and 7th travel an average of 10.000 euros per m2, or more than a million euros must be spent for an apartment of 100 m².
