A group of soldiers from the Sentinelle anti-terrorist operation was hit by a car in Levallois-Perret, on the outskirts of Paris. According to information from France Info, six soldiers were injured, two are serious, but none is in danger of life. The car is currently wanted.
"It is undoubtedly a deliberate act": said the mayor of Levallois-Perret, Patrick Balkany. Interviewed by BFM-TV, Balkany specified that it was eight o'clock in the morning when a BMW, which was parked waiting, accelerated "very quickly", overwhelming the group of 6 soldiers of the 35th infantry regiment. Two of them were hospitalized in serious condition at Percy-Clamart military hospital.
The French interior minister, Gérard Collomb, met urgently to follow developments in the situation. This morning, in Paris, was scheduled the last cabinet meeting before the summer break with President Emmanuel Macron. The Elysée Palace is located exactly opposite the Interior Ministry headquarters on Place Beauvau.
