Theme parks for children: the future is in Asia

The theme park market is a thriving market, particularly the theme park sector inspired by blockbuster movies or TV series, where visitors can experience first-hand the adventures they've followed on screen. The theme parks aimed at children are the driving force and the boundless Asian world offers enormous potential from this point of view.

Armed with a bevy of Asian parents who – like Western ones – would do anything to entertain their children, US entertainment giants such as Cartoon Network and Twentieth Century Fox are about to open two gigantic amusement parks in Asia, designed to appeal that goes well beyond national borders.

Cartoon Network – a network of digital television channels of the Time Warner group – has chosen Thailand for its water park, animated by characters from the television series that have made the broadcaster's fortune. Located on Thailand's east coast in Bang Saray Bay, the park, which required years of construction, will open on July 31 and boasts the largest water play area in the world.

In nearby Malaysia, Twentieth Century Fox, for its part, is working to create its own park, whose inauguration is set for 2016, which will offer scenarios and characters from its most successful films for young and old , such as “Ice Age” or “Night at the Museum”.
