HOT BENCHES – Mourinho's sacking could trigger a domino effect in Europe and Italy

Ancelotti at Bayern, Guardiola at City, Simeone or Conte at Chelsea and Mourinho at Psg, United or Real: it's the revolution of the benches triggered by the sensational exemption of the Special One - A revolution that will also have effects in Italy where one day Mou could come back: the most wobbly are the benches of Garcia at Roma and Mihajlovic at Milan.

HOT BENCHES – Mourinho's sacking could trigger a domino effect in Europe and Italy

The official announcement will come only tomorrow but by now there are no more doubts: Carlo Ancelotti will be the next coach of Bayern Munich. "Sunday I will make public a decision that the club already knows" explained Guardiola, effectively confirming his farewell to German football after three seasons. The news is big and not just because we are in December: the Bavarian modus operandi, in fact, is certainly nothing new. Already in the winter of 2012, Bayern announced the arrival of Guardiola in full Hitzfield era, a move that did not affect the continuation of the season at all, so much so that then, in May, Marienplatz celebrated the Bundesliga, the German Cup and the Champions League. Waiting to know if history will be able to repeat itself (Guardiola would like to say goodbye with a European triumph) we find ourselves commenting on a real revolution, destined to extend to all the major championships.

The domino effect, already probable in itself, becomes even obvious after the dismissal of Josè Mourinho, downloaded by Chelsea and ready to return to the market. Difficult, if not impossible, to establish with certainty the next "mapping" of the European benches even if, to tell the truth, there are some clues. Guardiola, once given his place to Ancelotti, should marry Manchester City while Chelsea, temporarily entrusted to Hiddink, seems intent on courting Simeone and Conte, coincidentally the most similar to Mourinho in terms of style and personality. And the Special One? For now he's licking his wounds but it's a safe bet that he'll be back in the trenches soon. Where it is difficult to say, there are certainly not many clubs that can afford his pharaonic salary (12 million net per season) and his demands on the transfer market. One of these is definitely Paris Saint Germain: two years ago Sheikh Al-Thani offered him golden bridges, he declined preferring to go back to his friend (?) Abramovich. Now the story could change and thinking of Mourinho in the shadow of the Eiffel Tower (perhaps together with Cristiano Ronaldo) is not a utopia at all. But keep an eye on Manchester United: Van Gaal wobbles dangerously and Alex Ferguson, as we know, has always been an admirer of the Portuguese. Then there is the suggestion of Real Madrid, fueled by Florentino Perez himself ("no one can predict the future"), which however seems destined to remain so.

The president of the Casa Blanca dotes on Mou but the same cannot be said of the squad, which is why the after Benitez (Rafa is unlikely to be confirmed) sees Zidane in pole position. Zizou is a true totem of madridismo and never mind if his coaching curriculum is limited to Castilla, Real's second team currently in the third division: the Bernabeu is thrilling and Perez, already much contested for Ancelotti's sacking, seems willing to indulge him. All this hubbub of names doesn't concern Italy, at least not directly. The top managers are out of reach for Serie A but even here the benches dance, and how they dance. To date, the one who risks the most is certainly Garcia, whose future for the Giallorossi is really hanging by a thread. A victory against Genoa could prolong his "life" but it is not even said that it will be enough, so much so that the name of Marcello Lippi is already being mentioned in the capital. “He'll train on Sunday” glossed over Sabatini, a very weak confirmation that smacks of a farewell. A little more serene (but not that much) Mihajlovic, who got up after the victory over Sampdoria. At the moment he doesn't risk anything but the match against Frosinone will be very delicate: in fact, yet another misstep would authorize any type of scenario.
