Palazzo Bonaparte reopens from March 5 in Rome thanks to Generali and Arthemisia

The building known for its small green balcony where the mother of Napoleon Bonaparte, Donna Maria Letizia Ramolino, loved to observe the comings and goings from the loopholes of the veranda between Piazza Venezia and via del Corso.

Bonaparte Palace it is a shared project and is inspired by the idea of "restitution". Today the Palace has become part of the history of the community. And this is how, with its reopening, it places itself at the center of change to start creating value again.

As we well know, the pandemic has forced many public and private institutions to close and review cultural and creative projects, with the loss of the ability to generate that economic value fundamental to development and above all innovation. With its reopening Bonaparte Palace, restored in 2019 by Generali and which thanks to Valore Cultura was reopened to the community as a place of art and culture, once again offers the community artistic and cultural opportunities.

From 5 March Palazzo Bonaparte will host the exhibition dedicated to Bill Viola, the greatest video art artist from the XNUMXs to today. The exhibition Icons of Light, curated by Kira Perov and produced and organized by Arthemisia with the collaboration of the Bill Viola Studio, was conceived as an immersive journey in which the public will be able to access spaces with a muffled atmosphere, a visionary space of worship where the visitor is invited to establish a deep visual and spiritual connection with the artwork.

Lucia Sciacca, Communication and Social Responsibility Director of Generali Italia said: “Three years after the inauguration of the first Generali Valore Cultura space, Palazzo Bonaparte reopens, a place rich in history that has seen us engaged in its restoration, to make it available to the community and to host the best artistic opportunities. With Bill Viola we make our idea of accessibility and involvement of all types of public concrete, especially the younger one, with educational workshops designed for the little ones, courses dedicated to families and conferences designed for children. We protect the emotions is the idea that supports the action of the Valore Cultura project: a commitment towards the future, the new generations and their passions. "

Iole Siena, President of Arthemisia: “Reopening Palazzo Bonaparte after almost two years from the beginning of the pandemic is not only the resumption of a cultural activity, but it is a rebirth. We have not yet returned to pre-Covid normality and, as we present the new exhibition, the danger of war looms over Europe. It's not important to go back "as before" but to be reborn and recreated again, strengthened by all the experiences. It is in this spirit that we reopen the doors of Palazzo Bonaparte in Rome, with the idea of a great embrace in the beauty of art, represented today by the extraordinary works of Bill Viola."

With Generali Culture Value has developed and consolidated relations with the great opera houses, with cultural operators specialized in major exhibitions and developed projects with prominent artists. These are important partnerships which since 2016 have made it possible to involve 5 million people, 450 artistic and cultural initiatives, 50.000 young people and students in workshops and cultural projects, offering over 130.000 free admissions.
