Economy Minister Pier Carlo Padoan supports the line supported by Jean Claude Junker on the state of the EU and underlines the importance of creating a superminister of the continental economy, a figure who, according to him, would give "the most effective acceleration" to many proposals on the table.
In the context of the Tallinn Eurogroup, Padoan underlined that "the impetus that the president has given to the need to simplify by encompassing the functions of the policy of a European Treasury in a single figure is an important indication, as well as a turning point and an acceleration”.
What Juncker said "is very important, far-reaching" and "certainly captures in practice many of the ideas that Italy had already advanced. So we support it”, continued the minister, above all because “it is the right time in Europe to think about strengthening the institutional architecture, given that the economy is producing important results”.
