Padoan: no taxes on long-term investments in SMEs

Those who invest for a long period (from 3 to 5 years) in small and medium-sized companies will benefit from the tax exemption on returns: this was announced by the Minister of Economy, Pier Carlo Padoan, who anticipated a decree law in the coming weeks

The Government aims to direct household savings towards the production system and in particular towards small and medium-sized enterprises which represent the backbone of Italian industry. This was announced by the Minister of Economy, Pier Carlo Padoan, with a long interview with "Corriere della Sera", in which he anticipated that within a few weeks the Council of Ministers will approve a decree law which will introduce the tax exemption on of investments (from 3 to 5 years) in SMEs.

An intervention of this kind, which provides for a zero rate on long-term investments, should, according to initial calculations, bring about 10 billion a year to SMEs through specialized products such as savings plans.

If the Government keeps its promises and Parliament quickly approves the decree, both the productive system and the people of savings would receive a great advantage.
