At the end of 2013, €20-22 billion of public administration debt arrears would have actually been paid, a lower sum than the €27,2 billion set as a target by the government last year. Among the causes, also the fact that in many cases the PA has not yet recognized the debts. The data was published today by Il Messaggero.
Another 20 billion tranche is planned for this year. Measures considered necessary by the Minister of Economy, Fabrizio Saccomanni, to hook the recovery. The official data for 2013 are being drafted and could arrive as early as tomorrow. According to European sources, the delay in payments is also irritating Brussels.
