OTB presented its third Sustainability Report, showing progress in the environmental, social and governance fields. The strategies adopted focus on reducing environmental impact, combating counterfeiting and actively supporting the supply chain

In the 2023, the Otb group di Renzo Rosso has committed to using certified materials, compliant with environmental and animal welfare standards, representing approximately 17% of total purchases. In four years it has reduced emissions by 20% and, as a member of the Fashion Pact, the goal is to reach 25% by 2025. Every brand in the group contributes to this goal. For example, Diesel's denim collections use over 50% organic, recycled and regenerative cotton. These are the highlights of the third Sustainability Report of the conglomerate with 1,9 billion euros in revenues in 2023 which includes brands such as Diesel, Jil Sander, Maison Margiela, Marni, Viktor&Rolf, together with the companies Staff International and Brave Kid, and also holds a stake in the American brand Amiri.

Otb's sustainability strategy

Following the group's sustainability strategy, the three pillars "The New Fashion System", "Protecting our Planet" and "Brave Together" guide Otb's path. In “The New Fashion System”, the group and its brands are committed to reduction of environmental impact and in promoting responsible materials and treatments.

Furthermore, the Otb group has encrypted over 580 thousand products on the blockchain platform in 2023, a 200% increase over the previous year. This guarantees the authenticity of the products and offers customers digital certificates accessible via smartphone.

Cooperation with spinneret it is essential to create a sustainable model. The group supports businesses in its value chain, 78% of which are based in Italy.

In the “Protecting our Planet” pillar, OTB received validation of its environmental impact reduction objectives. The group reduced direct emissions by 19,2% compared to 2019 and achieved 56% use of energy from renewable sources globally.

Finally, in the "Brave Together" pillar, OTB has adopted a new management strategy human resources to enhance the skills of its collaborators, promoting inclusion, diversity and merit. 54% of managerial positions are occupied by women, and the company has obtained the Gender Equality Certification.

Finally, the Otb Foundation has invested in over 350 social development projects, improving the lives of approximately 350 thousand people around the world.

Rosso: “Sustainability must be, first of all, a state of mind”

Renzo Rosso, president and founder of Otb, underlines the importance of sustainability as a "state of mind" shared by everyone in the group. 2023 was a year of significant milestones, both in environmental and social terms. “From an environmental point of view, we have further reduced emissions, used more and more materials that have less impact on the environment and achieved almost 100% energy coming from renewable sources in Europe. This year we also celebrated 10 years of the CASH project (Easy Credit - Suppliers' Help) and to celebrate this anniversary we launched the docuseries MADE, Made in Italy, Made Perfectly, an initiative that pays homage to the unique skills of those behind the scenes of the beautiful and well-made Italian. I am convinced that only through teamwork and a shared commitment with the entire industry can we really make a difference", concluded Rosso.
