“Ora di futuro”: Generali Italia's commitment to children

“For us, working with children in difficulty is a central theme all over the world: this is a project born from the foundation of Generali The Human Safety Net, we already have three editions behind us and we hope to continue it for many more years”. She said it Marco Sesana, country manager and CEO of Generali Italy, filing in the Senate Tuesday morning the Ora di Futuro Observatory 2021, an education project aimed at children and families involving teachers, primary schools and non-profit networks throughout Italy.

"It is clear that this project does not live alone, but lives on relationships - added Sesana - There is no one who alone can change things, but all together we can work to improve the situation". For families with children up to six years, the non-profit partners of the initiative are three: The Tree of Life, Mission Bambini and Center for Child Health. Their goal is to help parents in need to strengthen their skills, to offer children a more solid foundation for their growth.

Ora di Futuro also enters the elementary schools with educational path for the children of third, fourth and fifth grades. "Guided by teachers - reads the website of the initiative - the children acquire awareness of the environment, savings, health and well-being", learning "to manage resources, to prevent and assess risks".

The project makes available to every class a digital kit with the necessary for teaching: a guide to help the teacher prepare the lessons and a series of in-depth information sheets for pupils and teachers. But there is also one multimedia gaming platform where teachers and parents can guide children through educational experiences, tests and challenges to overcome.

Again as part of the "Ora di futuro" project, the children were asked to produce papers to explain how they would like the school of the future. "The results of your initiative show us that children have developed the ability to look to the future with optimism - said the president of the Senate, Maria Elisabetta Casellati - Asking children to think about the school of the future has given us back a wealth of ideas and of proposals. It was an extraordinary idea, because children are never banal: what they want is a technological school, attentive to the environment and to diversity, capable of working closely with families".
