Open Fiber: the ultra-fast network also arrives in Alvignano (CE)

Open Fiber, the company responsible for the construction of the FTTH fiber infrastructure controlled by Cassa Depositi e Prestiti (Cdp), has completed the work for the new public ultra-broadband telecommunications network Alvignano In the province of Caserta.

The FTTH fiber optic infrastructure allows citizens, businesses and professionals to access the Internet with advanced performance, with particular attention to less populated areas previously lacking ultra-fast connectivity.

1.788 connected real estate units

I'm in Alvignano now connected 1.788 real estate units using FTTH technology (fiber-to-the-home), which consists of laying optical fiber directly inside buildings. This solution offers connection speeds of up to 1 Gigabit per second and beyond.

The buildings covered also include 3 public administration offices, including educational institutions.

The Bul plan continues

The installation of the ultra-fast network in Alvignano is a strategic investment is preferably used for digitalization of the area and does not entail additional costs for the Municipality. The funding comes from regional and state funds in the context of Ultra Broadband Plan (BUL), managed by Infratel Italy, a company of the Ministry of Business and Made in Italy, with the coordination of the Campania Region.

The impact of laying the fiber is very low, thanks to innovative and sustainable excavation techniques that allow Open Fiber to reuse existing infrastructure.

The advantages of the ultra-broadband network

“Thanks to the FTTH network and the Open Fiber cabling project, Alvignano is equipped with an ultra broadband network capable of delivering ever-increasing volumes of data traffic, allowing for fast and enabling use of connections for smart working, streaming of HD content, online purchases and access to remote public administration services” he explained Vittorio Biasucci, field manager of Open Fiber.
