A martignano the ultrafast fiber di Open Fiber. The company headed by Mario Rossetti has concluded the works for the construction of the network infrastructure which allows citizens, businesses and professionals of the Municipality in the province of Lecce, especially in less populated areas, to access ultra-fast internet.
The ultra-fast network available in Martignano reaches 58 real estate units through technologies ftth (Fiber-to-the-home, optical fiber extended inside buildings) e times (Fixed Wireless Access). The latter, explains a note, is a solution based on the fiber optic binding of the base radio stations, in such a way as to reach the real estate units dispersed in areas with very low population density.
Ultra Broadband Plan
The technological infrastructure was financed with regional and state funds under the Ultra Broadband Plan (Bul) managed by Infratel Italy, an in-house company of the Ministry of Enterprise and Made in Italy, with the coordination of the Puglia Region. The impact for laying the fiber is greatly reduced, thanks to innovative and sustainable excavation techniques that allow OF to reuse existing infrastructure.
The advantages of the new ultra-broadband network
“Thanks to the FTTH network and the Open Fiber cabling project, Martignano is equipped with an ultra-broadband network capable of delivering ever-increasing volumes of data traffic, allowing quick and enabling use of connections for smart working, streaming content in HD, online purchases and access to remote services of the Public Administration”, he explained Gabriel MonculloOF field manager.
