La optical fiber di Open Fiber it is now also available in the province of Messina, offering residents, professionals and businesses in the area a high-speed Internet connection. This expansion includes nineteen municipalities, including Capizzi, Cerami, Cesarò, Falcone, and others.

The ultra-fast network, based on FTTH (Fibre-to-the-home) technology, covers 40.335 real estate units in the province, offering connection speed to 10 Gigabit per second. This project was carried out thanks to regional and state funds through the Ultra Broadband Plan (Sul), managed by Infratel Italia with the coordination of the Sicilian Region. The new network is and will remain public property.

Gift vouchers with fiber optics

In addition to the new infrastructure, a promotion is also launched “Open Fiber the choice that rewards you”. Residential users of the municipalities of Capizzi, Cerami, Cesarò, Falcone, Ficarra, Francavilla di Sicilia, Gualtieri Sicaminò, Monforte San Giorgio, Montalbano Elicona, Novara di Sicilia, Oliveri, San Fratello, San Piero Patti, Santa Lucia del Mela, Tripi, Tusa, Valdina, Venetico and Ventimiglia di Sicilia which will activate a connection through Open Fiber partner operators within the 31 October will receive a gift voucher. Rewards include vouchers for Amazon.it Gift Cards, MediaWorld gift cards or fuel vouchers, redeemable until December 31st.

“Thanks to the FTTH network and the Open Fiber cabling project, these Municipalities are now equipped with an ultra broadband network capable of delivering ever-increasing volumes of data traffic, allowing for fast and enabling use of connections for smart working, streaming of HD content, online purchases and remote access to public administration services,” he said Clara Distefano, regional manager Sicily and Southern Calabria of Open Fiber.
