Bertinetti: "2023 will be the turning point in the white areas"

Open Fiber is making great strides in the implementation of its industrial plan and has achieved in July a new record of 2 thousand kilometers of infrastructure, laying the foundations for the "turning point" in the White Areas in 2023. This is what Guido Bertinetti explained in a recent interview. An experience that he defines as "exciting" and "positive" thanks to the motivation and skills he found in the Group.

Summing up the accomplished results by the company, with particular reference to the commitments to cover the gray and white areas of the country, the manager recalled that Open Fiber "at the end of 2021, had built around 38 thousand kilometers of infrastructure out of the total 85 thousand of the entire project in the White Areas ” while in 2022 “we expect to build over 18 thousand, that is half of what was done in the previous four years”. And that “in the last four months (July 2022 data), over 500 municipalities have been closed and, at the moment, we have over 1.000 construction sites open. In seven months (since January 2022) we have put 500 FTTH property units available for sale for a total amount of approximately 900 million euros. We can say that 2023 will be the turning point in the white areas”, concluded the Director of Network & Operations.
