Open Fiber: ultra-fast Internet in the Neapolitan hinterland

The ultra-fast connection also reaches the Neapolitan hinterland. Thus continues the process of coverage via optical fiber implemented by Open Fiber: a real digital highway capable of giving users a secure and stable connection to the web and which is now also operational in the municipalities of Acerra, Casoria, Melito, Mugnano , Portici and San Giorgio a Cremano, which are added to the capital Naples. The investment is over 24 million euros, and will serve to cover approx 82 thousand real estate units in the six centers of the Neapolitan urban area.

Open Fiber is therefore cabling these and other cities in the province of Naples in modality FTTH (Fiber To The Home) thus bringing an infrastructure that supports it right into the users' home 1 Gbps connection speed (up to 1 Gigabit per second)thus allowing maximum performance.

Open Fiber's goal is to achieve an ultra-broadband network as pervasive and efficient as possible, which favors the recovery of competitiveness of the "country system" and, in particular, the evolution towards "Industry 4.0". The company is accelerating the country's digitization process, simplifying and improving relations between citizens and the Public Administration, between students, schools and universities, increasing the productivity and competitiveness of businesses.

Fibra City, Tiscali, Vodafone and Wind Tre these are the partner companies that currently manage the saleability of FTTH fiber services in the Neapolitan hinterland. Are approximately 35mila the real estate units of the six cities in Campania already prepared for Gigabit Society: over 5.000 ad Acerra, more than 9 thousand a Casoria, 7.500 a Melito, just under 3.000 BC Mugnano, 5.000 a arcade and over 4.300 a San Giorgio a Cremano. Open Fiber is an operator wholesale only: does not address the final customer directly, but is active exclusively in the wholesale market, offering access to all interested market operators.

Users intending to take advantage of the ultra-broadband network will only have to check the coverage of their address on the Open Fiber website, contact one of the partner operators and choose the preferred tariff plan to navigate at a speed impossible to achieve with current copper or mixed fibre-copper networks.
