Open Fiber has completed the ultra-fast fiber optic cabling of the first 4 real estate units in Limbiate, a center in the province of Monza and Brianza, which can now activate the services that guarantee a connection speed of up to 1 Gigabit per second. The company led by Elisabetta Ripa is wiring the Limbiate area in FTTH (Fiber To The Home) mode, creating a new infrastructure that reaches homes and offices in the city directly. The project plans to reach a total of around 11 real estate units, thanks to an investment of 4 million euros which will make it possible to lay around 6 kilometers of fiber optic cables.
The Open Fiber network is a strategic asset for the growth of urban areas, as it ensures performances that cannot be achieved with current copper or mixed fibre-copper networks, and develops digital connections and services, the main levers of productivity to face the economic and social challenges of today and the coming years. The services enabled by ultra-broadband are numerous and extend to areas such as the Internet of Things, e-health, cloud computing, online streaming of HD content, access to advanced Public Administration services, applications Smart Cities such as sustainable mobility, electronic access control, environmental monitoring, public lighting management and the digitization of tourism services.
Open Fiber is a wholesale-only operator, as it does not sell services to end customers, but is active exclusively on the wholesale market, offering access to all interested operators. Tiscali and Vodafone are the partner companies that are marketing services on the Open Fiber network for the municipality of Limbiate. In the coming months, other operators of our partners will provide services on Open Fiber ultra-fast fiber.
