Olivetti, 110 years of innovation on display in Ivrea

110 years of enterprise of the famous Italian family of industry on display. Inaugurated today at the H Workshop in Ivrea "Olivetti 110 years of innovation", an exhibition created under the patronage of the Municipality of Ivrea and in collaboration with the Olivetti Historical Archive Association and the Adriano Olivetti Foundation, which will remain open to the public until 27 January 2019.

The exhibition celebrates the 110th anniversary of the birth of Olivetti and the recent UNESCO recognition of the city of Ivrea, a social reference model for the modern vision of the relationship between industry and architecture that developed between the 30s and 60s.

The exhibition itinerary is made up of numerous elements that have characterized the history of Olivetti, now the digital hub of the Tim Group. There is a rich selection of posters among the most significant of the company's production, a collection of advertising posters by Giovanni Pintori and various artists from the late 50s and early 60s and an important collection of unique photographs.

The visionary capacity that characterizes the history of Olivetti finds expression in iconic products such as the famous “Lettera22” typewriters, born in 1950, and “Valentina”, designed in 1968, to name a few of the objects on display. An excursus that reaches today's digital world with the Form 200, connected cash register and first product created thanks to the Olivetti Design Contest promoted by the company and aimed at students of the major European design universities.

“Olivetti has written important pages in Italian industrial history and continues to focus on its constant ability to innovate. This exhibition aims to bear witness to the common thread between the company's past, present and future”, declared Antonio Cirillo, CEO of Olivetti.

"Innovating means not forgetting the great teachings that come from our past, and these are the spirit and conviction with which we have worked in the exhibition that celebrates 110 years of a unique and extraordinary history. It is our identity, it is our roots, today finally recognized as the heritage of all humanity. For a future in the name of Adriano Olivetti”, testifies Beniamino de Liguori, Adriano Olivetti Foundation.

“The exhibition for Olivetti's 110th anniversary seals and enriches in significance the recent UNESCO recognition of “Ivrea, Industrial City of the XNUMXth Century” and constitutes a significant piece of the cultural proposal that can emerge from the extraordinary Olivetti experience. A proposal that continues to be more current than ever and that can, only by investing in a synergistic work of the whole community and public and private entities, achieve an international resonance ", says Stefano Sertoli, Mayor of the City of Ivrea.

Admission to the exhibition is free (Officina H, via Montenavale 1). The opening procedures are indicated on the website of the Municipality of Ivrea, www.comune.ivrea.to.it
