Olympics, Federica Pellegrini in history: fifth final

At almost 33 years old, Federica Pellegrini once again it gives us great joy: it enters history by hitting the mark the fifth consecutive final at the Olympics in his favorite specialty – i 200 meters freestyle – where in the past he collected a gold medal (Beijing 2008) and a silver one (Athens 2004), as well as world records. A feat never before achieved by any female swimmer in the world. And among men, only the legendary Michael Phelps in the 200m butterfly had reached such a milestone.

After an unhappy initial performance in the heat, which allowed her to pass to the next round only by the skin of her teeth, Pellegrini once again got her claws out in the face of difficulties and in her semifinal she finished third with a time of 1'56 "44, who allowed her to enter in the final in seventh place.

On Wednesday night, at 3.41, all eyes will be on her: at least for those who manage to stay awake. But Fede deserves it, even if she remains grounded and puts her hands forward: “Getting to the podium is an impossible feat. I'm really happy: without making fun of us, this was the goal of my Olympics, which arrived a year late, in pursuit: to bring home this final. That will be the last, I already tell you: my body is asking me back the minutes spent with interest ".
