The athlete from Sondrio conquered the only metal she was still missing in the short track 500m race at the Pyeongchang Olympics, Korea, leading the final from the first to the last meter and overtaking the Korean landlady Choi in the photo finish Minjeong, then disqualified and off the podium.

Arianna Fontana thus rises to six Olympic medals, won in four different editions: one gold, one silver and four bronzes. And Pyeonchang has just begun for the short track: the 1000m, 1500m and above all the relay races are still missing, with the Italian women's national team already qualified at the end. Shortly after Fontana's, the third Italian medal at these Games arrived, the first silver: it was won by Federico Pellegrino in the cross-country skiing sprint race.
