The Italian group, through an agreement with Discovery Communications, has exclusive rights for its customers who will be able to follow the Games from home or on the move. Agreement also with Eurosport for athletics, tennis and cycling

Tim has been awarded the exclusive TV rights to the 2018 Winter Olympics and the Tokyo 2020 Games. The Italian telecommunications group has in fact reached an agreement with Discovery Communications to make the Olympic Games available on more and more screens. "This is the first agreement born and conceived for mobile telephone operators throughout Europe - specifies the group statement - thanks to which TIM customers will have privileged access to the Olympic Games of PyeongChang 2018 and Tokyo 2020.

Jean-Briac Perrette, President and CEO of Discovery Networks International, said: “Partnering with the largest mobile phone company in Italy will help deliver the best Olympic Games viewing experience to millions of viewers. This first-ever global deal is a win especially for fans who want to enjoy exclusive content from the Games wherever and whenever they want.”

As "Official Mobile Broadcaster", TIM will have the opportunity to exclusively link its brand to that of the Olympic Rings, offering its customers "exclusive access at any time to a dedicated channel of news and highlights and to "short form" content ”, thus allowing fans to follow their national heroes at home, online and on mobile”.

Furthermore, TIM customers will have immediate access to Eurosport Player, where sports fans can follow the FINA World Championships in Swimming and IAAF in Athletics, the French Open in Roland Garros tennis, the Giro d'Italia, the Tour de France and the EuroCup in Basketball which includes coverage of every second of the Olympic Games, 360 degrees, from every angle, with contents in Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality.
