Sace has secured another loan in the sector oil & gas after the 355 million one under the project barzan. In this case the warranty will cover for 280 million dollars the contract obtained from Saipem for participating in the projectGladstone LNG" that Santos intends to build in the Queensland region in Australia. The project, as a whole, amounts to about 16 billion dollars and involves the construction of an integrated plant for the extraction and transformation of natural gas extracted from coal (CSG) and liquefied natural gas (LNG). The total capacity of the plant will touch, when fully operational, the 8 million tons per year.
Within the project, Saipem, will take care of a relevant part or the cobstruction of the 435 kilometer onshore and offshore pipeline which will serve to connect the Bowen and Surat fields to the Gladstone liquefaction and transportation plant.
Already in 2009 Sace had guaranteed a joint venture, of which Santos was a part, a loan equal to 900 million dollars for the realization of similar projects in Papua New Guinea.
