Today in Rome the memory of Luigi Spaventa with the presentation of "Against the opposing pessimisms"

The great economist Luigi Spaventa, who died two years ago, will be remembered today in Rome with the presentation at the Institute of the Italian Encyclopedia of his "Against opposing pessimisms - To get out of the decline and the crisis" (Castelevecchi editore, pages 467) which collects his main writings from 2002 to 2011 and testifies to the very strong topicality of his thought.

In the collection of essays, which is preceded by an introduction by his friend and economist Antonio Pedone, Luigi Spaventa, alongside the theoretical and empirical foundations of his ideas, very clearly sets out the guidelines, criteria and tools with which and were able to address the crucial questions facing Italian and European economic policy and still face it.

Spaventa's stinging criticisms allow for a better understanding of the reasons for the not only economic, but also social and cultural decline that afflicts our country.

Always accompanied by concrete proposals and the continuous search for feasible solutions, Spaventa's analyzes are vital for understanding the profound transformations experienced by Italian capitalism and the main challenges we will have to face in the near future.
