OECD Superindex, signs of recovery but Italy and France are weak

Italy still stands out negatively in the OECD area, afterwards the black jersey awarded by the organization as regards the GDP in the month of March. While other market economies run by democratically elected governments appear to be recovering, Italy continues to lose ground. Both in terms of industrial production and development. This is confirmed by the data released on Tuesday. But in general the countries of the area are growing, driven by the USA, Japan and the United Kingdom.

The superindex calculated by the Paris organizationi rose to 100,5 points from 100,3 in January and 100,2 in December. The data "continues to signal the positive turning point of the OECD area, but with some divergence between the major economies". Japan (index up from 100,8 to 101,1) and the United States (from 101 to 101,3) show “strong signs of recovery in economic activity“. The euro area was substantially unchanged (99,6), albeit with different valuations. In Italy (index down from 99,5 to 99,4) and France (stable at 99,7) the figure shows deteriorating economic activity, the opposite instead for Germany (unchanged at 99,2) and the United Kingdom (from 99,4 to 99,5).
