Slow down in December inflation in the OECD area, reaching 2,9% on an annual basis from 3,1% in November. The data reflects "the slower growth of energy prices" - explains the international organization -, which grew by 8,1% in December on an annual basis, from 11,6% in the previous month.

Food prices instead rose by 4,4% on a year-on-year basis against 4,1% in November. Excluding the food and energy sector, inflation remained stable at 2% last month. The data remained stable in Italy (at 3,3%), while in the Eurozone it slowed down from 3 to 2,7%.
