Trade slows down in the main economies in the second quarter of 2013. This was communicated by the OECD, which estimates that the value of imports and exports of goods for the G7 countries and BRICS would have decreased by 1,4% and 1,8% respectively compared to the first quarter of the year.

Looking in detail at the data released by the Parisian organization, there are many economies that have recorded a contraction in both items, i.e. imports and exports: Germany (-1,5% import, -2% export), France (- 3,1% and -0,5%), Italy (-3,8% and -3,1%), Japan (-3% and -0,4%), Canada (-1,1% and -0,3%), the Russian Federation (-4,6% and -1,8%) and India (-4,5, 8,1% and -XNUMX%).

On the other hand, China (+1,4% import and -3,4% export) and Brazil (+0,2%, -4,6%) recorded an increase in imports and a decrease in exports, while the USA (+ 0,5% exports and -1,7%) and South Africa (+3,8% and -2,9%) showed an increase in exports and a decrease in imports. The only economy in which both items recorded growth is that of the United Kingdom, 0,1% in imports and 1,4% in exports.
