Employment: slowdown in February, industry slows down

The virtuous path of employment monitored by the Excelsior observatory, supervised by Unioncamere and Anpal, is slowing down. And the month of February marks a slowdown compared to January 2020.

There are in fact 320 contracts scheduled by companies in February and they will rise to just over a million between February and April 2020. Compared to the positive dynamics recorded in January, the data from the monthly bulletin of the Excelsior information system show a cyclical and trend decline: - 13 thousand compared to February 2019 (-4%) and -50 thousand compared to the same quarter last year (-4,5%).

To weigh, specifies a note, is above all the contraction in the demand for labor in the manufacturing sector with 11 fewer entries (-14,4%) and over 35 fewer between February-April (-15,2%). Nonetheless, the difficulty in finding suitable professional figures declared by companies increases by more than two points: from 29% to 31%. Especially for profiles in Information Systems (58% of the figures sought) and Design, R&D (48%).
