The six-party summit in Berlin, which was also attended by Italian premier Matteo Renzi on the occasion of Barack Obama's last visit to Europe as outgoing president of the United States, has come to an end. Obama had reached Germany in recent days after visiting Tsipras in Greece, and before flying to Peru: first the bilateral meeting with Angela Merkel, today the six-party lunch with the other heads of government: Renzi, Hollande, Merkel , Rajoy and May.

According to what has been leaked, immigration was certainly among the topics at the center of the meeting: Prime Minister Renzi once again underlined the difficulties and the European impasse, then leaving the table quite soon, as soon as the summit ended , which started at 10 in the morning and which also touched on other topics such as the situation in Syria, in Ukraine, relations with Russia, the fight against the Islamic State, and the future of transatlantic relations following the election of Donald Trump to the American presidency. Obama will leave Europe today, heading for Lima, while he will make his last return to Washington from abroad next Monday.
