Obama swore publicly: "The decade of wars ended, now rights and economic development"

“I am honored and grateful to have the chance to finish what we started. Our work begins today. Let's go". On the day of his inauguration for the second term as president of the United States, Barack Obama's first message was on Twitter, at 9.25 am Washington time (about 15.30 pm in Italy), therefore during the religious function.

Then Barack Obama was sworn in. Before Supreme Court Justice Roberts, before whom, like 4 years ago, he botched the oath: which was followed by the inauguration speech for the second term as president of the United States. “Today we continue an endless journey,” Obama said. “The Creator has given us inalienable rights, such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Freedom is a gift from God, but it must be guaranteed by the people who live on this earth": Barack Obama thus began his speech, then speaking of the American people and in particular of the middle class, the fulcrum of his thought and action of government.

“We believe America's prosperity must rest on the shoulders of a growing middle class. This generation of Americans has been tested by crises that have strengthened our resistance. A decade of war is ending, the economic recovery has begun, the possibilities of the United States are limitless. The US knows that we have to make difficult choices to reduce the cost of the health system and reduce our deficit,” the newly re-elected president said on Capitol Hill in front of 800 people. Which then also touched on the delicate issue of war: "With the withdrawal of troops from Iraq and Afghanistan at the end of 2014, a decade of wars is over and now one of economic development must begin: America has unlimited opportunities, all those that are required by this now borderless world”.
