OAM: Francesco Alfonso new president

After numerous positions in Bankitalia and the Administration of the Presidency of the Republic at the time of Ciampi, Francesco Alfonso was elected President of the OAM. Carlo Dorati and Vito Raffaele Maria Torelli confirmed on the management committee while Luciano Ciampi and Giuseppe Crescenti enter

Francesco Alfonso was elected President of the OAM, the body for the management of the lists of financial agents and credit brokers. This is the choice of the restricted Council of the representative Associations of Agents and Brokers participating in the OAM Foundation (so-called group B) which has also elected as members of the Management Committee Charles Dorati e Joseph Crescent. The new management and control bodies will assume full functions on 1 June 2021.

While the restricted council of the nationally representative associations and federations of banks, financial intermediaries, electronic money institutions and payment institutions participating in the Foundation (so-called group A) elected as members of the Committee Vito Raffaele Maria Torelli e Joseph Crescent. Furthermore, the Select Councils of the two groups of Participants in the OAM Foundation have chosen to respect the ranking resulting from the online vote of Agents and credit brokers.   

Francesco Alfonso has a long career behind him Bank of Italy and not only. He has been Advisor to the President of the Republic Carlo Azeglio Ciampi, after having been his Chief of the Secretarial Office at the Presidency of the Council first and then at the Ministry of the Treasury. In the following years he was Head of the Technical Secretariat and Advisor with Minister Padoa Schioppa, with Minister Saccomanni, Advisor and Head of the Secretariat with Minister Padoan and Advisor to Minister Tria. Furthermore, Alfonso was a Director of the Court of Auditors and held numerous positions in Supervisory Bodies of both public and private companies. 

The two new members of the Committee, who will be joined by Carlo Dorati and Vito Raffaele Maria Torelli (both in their third mandate), have consolidated experience in the banking and financial world. Luciano Ciampi, a graduate in Economics from the University of Siena, held managerial positions in important Italian credit institutions to subsequently enter the world of credit brokerage and financial agents. And Giuseppe Crescenti, a Bocconi graduate in Business Economics, developed his long managerial career in the Bnp-Paribas group.   

Finally, the composition of the Board of Statutory Auditors was also completed: to the chairman Mario Civetta, elected directly by on-line voting, are supported by standing auditors Christian Bianchi e Antonio Chirico and alternates Bernardino Cordeschi e Daniel Cauzillo.
