The new goWare and FIRSTonline ebook is by Giovanni Ferri. It's called "Europe, we loved each other so much".

“How did economists get so wrong?” wonders Paul Krugman, Nobel 2008 for economics. Until the eve of the crisis, economists said almost in unison "everything is fine". The crisis comes from the USA, which was living beyond its means with strong foreign imbalances and getting into debt with the Chinese. But then the crisis experiences a second, more serious, epicenter in Europe which, overall, has balanced foreign accounts and does not live off the savings of others.

Thus the European crisis is self-inflicted: the unfortunate fiscal austerity is imposed on Europeans (especially in the south) not by the distrust of foreign savers but by their leaders. Why was Keynes' exhortation (from 1919) ignored for the Greeks not to make the Germans pay the massive war reparations, on pain of destabilizing Germany?

This ebook, which traces the film of the crisis engaging the reader for the time of a flight to Brussels, explains why the sum of so many errors and such an inexplicable void of reason can only be explained with emotional considerations. Is it disaffection that is killing Europe? And, if so, can we fall in love again, perhaps on the beaches of the Mediterranean?

An extended section of infographics and some interludes to watch and listen to complete the proposal.
