Acts of violence are taking place between the beloved forces and the demonstrators who took to the streets in the Greek capital – There is great movement in many cities of the country for the general strike, the third called since the beginning of the year.

Police fired tear gas at civilians gathered in front of the Greek Parliament to demonstrate against new austerity measures being debated in the hall. It seems that the agents responded violently to the demonstrators throwing stones and yogurt: there are more than 20 people in Syntagma Square.
A 24-hour general strike was called today by the two main unions, both in the public and private sectors: it is the third since the beginning of the year. The country is paralyzed by unrest in transportation, public administration and commercial activities. In many cities of Greece, thousands of people are on the streets to protest against the new austerity measures which include cuts in social spending for almost 28 and a half billion euros and a vast program of privatizations.
Arriving in Parliament, the Greek Prime Minister, Georges Papandreu, reaffirmed the country's commitment to carry forward the measures necessary to get out of the crisis “We assume our responsibilities towards the people. – He declared – A national effort is needed because we are in a crucial historical phase and we have to make equally important decisions. ”
