Numismatics, presented the new collection of Italian coins 2020

Ten new themes characterize the new coins which celebrate ten themes as an expression of Italian excellence in various fields:

  1. 80th Anniversary of the Foundation of the National Fire Brigade
  2. 150th Anniversary of the birth of Maria Montessori
  3. Series "Great Italian Artists" - Eduardo De Filippo
  4. “Italian Excellence” Series – Olivetti Letter 22
  5. 30th Year of the Telethon Foundation
  6. International Year of Plant Health
  7. “Sustainable World – Endangered Animals” Series – Tiger
  8. Series “Italian Food and Wine Culture” – Pizza and Mozzarella
  9. 500th Anniversary of the death of Raffaello Sanzio, in two types
  10. Series “Roman Emperors” – Marcus Aurelius

The new Collection presents elements of uniqueness and the adoption of micro-formats, we find the consolidated introduction of color, the creation of shaped gold inserts inside silver coins and for the first time a lighting in the dark proposed by the coin depicting the "Tiger" with a phosphorescent effect that with the coin on the health of plants, begins a priority path on the theme of sustainability.

The coin that celebrates Italian food and wine opens a new vein with the intention of continuing in the coming years on a tour of the peninsula through regional specialties. Furthermore, as evidence of Italian design icons, the Vespa – the previous coin – passes the baton to Olivetti 22.

The presentation evening which saw the participation of institutional representatives of the printing press and State Mint, as well as master engravers, representatives of the National Fire Brigade, of the Foundations represented and a large number of guests, concluded with a visit to the “Ars Metallica” exhibition organized by the Medal Art School.

Particularly suggestive are the videos presented for each medal, first and foremost that of the history and the great participation of the Fire Brigade in the most dramatic events, such as the earthquakes that have occurred in our country over the last eighty years.
