No longer Hong Kong, the most expensive city in the world is now London

London sets the arrow and overtakes Hong Kong. Indeed, according to a report by the Savills real estate agency, the English capital would be the most expensive city in the world to live and work in, driven, in this special ranking, by the increase in the rental price of offices and by the strength of the pound against the dollar .

In London, the annual cost of living and working for each worker would amount to about $120.000. Followed by Hong Kong (115.000), New York (107.000) and Paris (105.00). In the Savills ranking, which includes the twelve largest financial cities in the world, there is no Italian city.

Despite the overtaking suffered, Hong Kong still holds the record for the annual cost of residential and work accommodation, set in 2011 with the figure of 128.000 dollars per year per worker. In recent years, from 2008 to today, the cities that have recorded the highest cost growth rates have been Rio de Janeiro (+85%) and Sydney (+58%).
