Unemployment is not decreasing either in Italy or in Europe

There are 2 million and 9 thousand Italians without work registered in July, in line with the data for June. Even in the Europe of 27 there have been no changes and the unemployment rate stands at 9,5%. In the Eurozone, the rate remains at 10%. Germany confirms a 7% jobless population. The worst figure is that of Spain (21,2%).

Unemployment is not decreasing either in Italy or in Europe

Flat calm for the labor market. There appears to be no major change in the wind for the unemployed in Europe where the unemployment rate stood at 9,5% (in line with 9,7% in July 2010). Even in the Eurozone the value remained stable at 10% (10,2% in July 2010). This was stated by Eurostat, adding that in the Europe of 27 there are 22,711 million people without work, while considering only the 17 countries of the Eurozone they are 15,757 million. Compared to July 2010, the number of unemployed decreased, in absolute terms, by 451 in the EU and by 247 in the Eurozone. Spain is the country that recorded the worst number, 21,2%, while the situation is positive in Austria (3,7%) and the Netherlands (4,3%). The data for Germany also confirm the stability of the labor market, with a rate of 7%, in line with analysts' expectations.   

The unemployment rate was also stable in Italy at 8%. On an annual basis the rate decreased by 0,3 percentage points. In July, the employed increased by more than 2 million. The percentage of jobless young people also fell to 27,6%, -0,2% compared to June but +0,8% compared to July 2010.
