Nokia ready the new Mango-smartphones

Nokia will launch the first smartphone model equipped with the brand new Windows 7 Mango operating system by the end of the year. According to rumors collected by Taiwan's Commercial Times, the Finnish company would like to launch two new models on the market: one equipped with a full touch screen, the other ultra-flat with a keyboard.

The news feeds the rumors, persistent in recent weeks, on the possibility that Nokia will be bought by Microsoft. The leaders of the IT giant have specified that Nokia will not have, at least for now, privileged treatment and will be treated on the same basis as all other competitors (Samsung, LG, Htc, Acer, Zte and Fujitsu). For the future, however, everything seems possible. Nokia is suffering greatly from the changes in the mobile phone market. In the first quarter of 2011 it stood at a world market share of 25%, losing 5 points compared to the same period of 2010 and recording the lowest result since 1997. Entry into the Microsoft galaxy, where it would join Skype, would boost the position of the Finns on the smartphone market, creating a new pole whose goal will be to undermine Apple's dominance. The Mango operating system, presented these days, is the first step in this process. The stated goal is to conquer second place in consumer choices within 4 years. Mango, available this fall, will be automatically added to devices already in circulation. At the moment, there are no special functions for using Skype. "The present is always anchored to traditional telephony, we have something else in mind for the future," Microsoft leaders said. The challenge to the Apple has been launched.
