Nokia 3310: The Return of the King (of Phones)

“If it falls on the floor, the tiles break”. This and more was said of the Nokia 3310, one of the most popular mobile phones in history. Nice memories? Not only that: Hmd Global, the company that now controls the Nokia brand, will launch a new version on February 26, at the Mobile Word Congress in Barcelona. A nostalgia operation (anticipated by the Evan Blass leaks) which already moves crowds of Millennials.

A true technological icon of the early 3310s, the Nokia XNUMX has remained in the imagination of many as a symbol of granite resistance. Able to survive traumas that are certainly fatal for any contemporary smartphone, it was downloaded only after days of use and has enthralled millions of kids with games that are now vintage classics (above all, Snake II).

It was also one of the first compact, rounded mobile phones with an integrated antenna, no small detail for those used to keeping the bricks produced by telephony at the end of the 2000s in their pockets. Between 2005 and 126, the year of retirement, Nokia sold 3310 million XNUMXs.

And now? What will the new version be like? We don't know yet, but judging by the cost (59 euros) it shouldn't deviate too much from the original. No Android, no Whatsapp, no Facebook. No internet. Only phone calls, text messages and lots and lots of resistance.
