No Europe for Milan: Parma pass, Turin also mocked

Sixth place therefore goes to the ducals, who got the better of Livorno thanks to Amauri's brace, while Torino remained in the post by virtue of a penalty missed by Cerci right at the end of the game - The Rossoneri's 2-1 over Sassuolo was useless.

No Europe for Milan: Parma pass, Turin also mocked

Sentence announced. Milan will not participate in the next Europa League, just as expected. Not that there were many hopes, but at a certain point the Rossoneri had almost started to hope again. Then, from Parma and Florence, the news that everyone expected arrived and the European dream was back in the drawer. Sixth place therefore goes to the ducals, who got the better of Livorno thanks to Amauri's brace, while Torino remained in the post thanks to a penalty missed by Cerci right at the end of the match.

Nothing to do for Milan, in fact already out of the game after the defeat in Bergamo, despite the victory over Sassuolo signed by Muntari and De Jong. And now more than ever the focus is on Clarence Seedorf, and his wobbly bench.

“At the end of the month, the club will announce what it has decided – explained the Dutchman at the press conference. – I already know when I will meet Galliani, I can only say that I have faced the difficulties constructively, as always. I didn't get lost and I kept my moral integrity and my values, respecting everyone. I have great enthusiasm, without that the team would not have achieved these results".

Yes, because at the end of the season we can take stock of Seedorf's experience as a coach. Which may have been a bankruptcy in terms of relationships, corporate and in the locker room, but more than good in terms of results. The 35 points achieved in 19 games put the Dutchman behind only Conte and Garcia: as if to say that Milan, in a game of projection (impossible to prove, of course) would have reached the Champions League with a first leg like this .

“It's a good start for the future – continued Seedorf. – The team has found security, self-esteem and conviction, the results show that the group is united. But the credit for this second leg is not mine, but the boys' because they were the ones who trained well and always pushed to the max”.

Important words, corollary of an anomalous season finale like never before. In fact, rarely had a coach been seen so in the balance (not to mention already fired) after more than positive results, underlined by the numerous San Siro chants towards the Dutchman. In fact, Milan, even if eighth and out of Europe, closed the championship with the applause of its fans, cheered, albeit minimally, by the victory over Sassuolo.

Thanks to Muntari, able to unblock the impasse after just two minutes with a beautiful shot from outside and to De Jong, good and lucky in taking a free-kick and finding the (decisive) deflection by Zaza. The same striker then, with time practically up, found the final 2-1 goal from a penalty, caused by a tackle by De Sciglio (expelled, like Paolo Cannavaro) on Sansone.

The last emotion of a season much more black than red. We will therefore start again without Europe, for the first time in 15 years. So Seedorf wasn't there, will things happen again in two months?
