Nico Rosberg retires from Formula 1 at the age of 31, a few days after winning his first world title: the fresh world champion announced it through his official Facebook profile. “For 25 years it has been my dream, my obsession: to become Formula 1 world champion. Through hard work, pain, sacrifices, this has been my goal. I've done it now. I've climbed my mountain, I'm at the top, so I feel good. My strongest emotion right now is deep gratitude to everyone who supported me and made this dream come true."
Rosberg was born in Wiesbaden, Germany, on June 27, 1985. He is the son of art: his father Keke, of Finnish nationality, was in turn Formula 1 world champion in 1982, driving for Williams. His racing number was 6, the same used by his son Nico, who competed in 1 GPs in F206, with 57 podiums and 23 victories, 30 pole positions and a title that came close two years ago and finally won this year.
