On June 13th Christie's New York presents the Evening of Exceptional Watches auction in a catalog of 95 highly sought after and rare watches.

The watches up for auction are both vintage and modern and include a very nice set of wristwatches Rolexes; a “James Bond” Submariner” exceptionally rare, reference 6538, ($500.000-1.000.000) and an impressive range of Daytona, including the coveted wristwatch chronograph 6263 “Paul Newman Panda“, estimated ($500.000-1.000.000).

Also featured are some of the most outstanding productions by Patek Philippe, including a very rare Art Deco cushion-shaped minute repeater wristwatch (estimate: $400.000-800.000), as well as the iconic 2499 perpetual calendar chronograph (estimate: $350.000-550.000).

Historically noteworthy watches include an important Zenith watch repeating the Grande Sonnerie pocket watch, belonging to the famous playwright Sholem Aleichem, (estimate: $300.000-500.000), a very rare single button chronograph Cartier, formerly belonging to the William Clayford, nephew of Henry Ford (estimate: $25.000-30.000) and a pocket watch Arnold & Charles Frodsham, formerly belonging to Charles Lewis Tiffany, Louis Comfort Tiffany and four generations of descendants (estimate: $50.000-100.000).

Among the impressive collections are watches from the Mel and Noel Blanc collection, as well as one of the most important and eclectic single-parent collections of modern Patek Philippe watches to be auctioned in recent years.

The public preview of this sale includes a full exhibit at Christie's 20 Rockefeller Center galleries June 8-13.
