The fair, now in its 15th edition, welcomed more than 60.000 visitors in 5 days, featured over 200 carefully selected galleries from over 30 countries, including important international operators such as David Zwirner, Gagosian Gallery, Lisson Gallery, Marianne Boesky Gallery and Galerie Eva Presenhuber, which together with emerging galleries exhibited their best works.

The mayor of New York, Bloomberg, wanted to underline the importance of this fair for the city, commenting: “New York City is the world's center for modern art, and the arts have never been louder or more vibrant than on this occasion. From what has been declared, the exhibitors have recorded a constantly growing turnover, thus further affirming New York's position at the center of the international art market. Once again the fair attracted major US and internationally based museum groups including the Art Institute of Chicago, The Barnes Foundation, Philadelphia, Miami Art Museum, Los Angeles County Museum of Art/LACMA, the Museum of Modern Art of New York; Rijksakademie voor Beeldende Kunsten, Amsterdam, The Walker Art Center, Minneapolis, and the Whitney Museum of American Art, New York.

The artist selected this year was Liz Magic Laser. Known for his performance works, he staged a series of focus groups made up of collectors, curators, art professionals and journalists, to decide the production of two limited edition artworks and related accessories connected with the Armory Show Commission. Proceeds from the limited edition artwork will benefit the Museum of Modern Art and the Pat Hearn & Colin de Land Cancer Foundation.
