Almost three million euros (2.925.655) for the photography auction "Photographs" held in New York at Sotheby's with truly special works by great master photographers of the 18th, 19th, 20th century, including Man Ray, Peter Beard, August Sander, Walker Evans, Diane Arbus etc.
Photography always remains a sector for enthusiasts who compete for the most unique and rare works and where their interest, more or less marked, can lead to an increase in the initial estimate. As an investment it is to be considered very sensitive and depending on the fashion of the moment, it is still a perfect art for a percentage between 5 and 10 of the investment if considered within a portfolio including different types of art, first of all: old master and modern and contemporary art.
