"No one excluded", the strength of diversity, justice and inclusion: a book by Andrea Laudadio

La diversity it is one of the fundamental values of our century. Globalization, the explosion of micro-communities that have emerged with the advent of social networks, the social melting pot and the focus on sustainability are pushing an ever-increasing number of communities, organizations and companies to choose to put issues at the center of their action of diversity, of justice and inclusion. In such a context, the speed, interconnection and complexity of today's society require the contribution of each individual, "none excluded!" The book of Andrea Laudadio, head of the Learning and Development structure of Tim, is dedicated to those who in various capacities are called to the important task of promoting and enhancing diversity, justice and inclusion.

Today, explains Laudadio, we live in a world where problems are increasingly complex and require increasingly complex solutions. “Effective solutions to complex problems not only require broader knowledge, but also a plurality of points of view that can make that solution effective”.

Diversity is not an element to be tolerated, but an asset to be protected

Diversity is no longer a "problem", but an indispensable work tool. Big companies know this, having gone from a phase in which the goal was to "integrate" diversity within their own culture to one in which it is necessary to attract and produce diversity. To "make a difference" there is a need to "make diversity"; a theme that no longer concerns only some category or group, but each and every one of us, with our infinite diversity that makes us unique and must be increasingly valued and developed.

The path that will make this book "old and useless", as Laudadio hopes, has already begun: in November 2021 the 4Weeks4Inclusion marathon, led by Tim, involved, among others, Giunti Psychometrics, publisher of this book and also of scientific evaluation tools designed for the HR world: even diversity, in fact, can be measured. The history of the publication of this text was also born from that experience.
