No cut on thirteenth bonuses but a tough line for "inefficient" state workers

The thirteenths are safe but the hard line has been chosen for the "inefficient" state workers who will not fulfill their duties within the prescribed times. Indeed, an amendment to the Development decree was approved by the commission of the Chamber, with a favorable judgment from the Government, proposed by the rapporteurs Alberto Fluvi (Pd) and Raffaello Vignali (Pdl), which introduces the immediate referral of "inefficient" employees with the relative sanction.

This is a tightening of what had previously been established in February with the Simplifications decree, which provided for the substitutive power of the manager against the employee responsible for delays but any sanctions were triggered only following year-end assessments. With the new amendment, times have accelerated considerably. The executives, whose names must be clearly traceable on the institutional sites, must "without delay" communicate the names of the "late" employees, otherwise they will be held personally responsible for the non-compliance.

Among the numerous fears and rumors surrounding the fate of civil servants, the cuts on thirteenth salaries seem to have been averted, at least for the moment. The news, circulated yesterday morning by Confesercenti, was promptly denied by the competent minister, Filippo Patroni Griffi.

However, the attention of the unions remains high on any future changes to state payrolls, in fact the second act of the spending review decree is missing, which does not exclude the possibility of new cuts on bonuses, salaries and pensions.
