Christmas, this is how much Italians spend at the table

Have you ever wondered how much money we spend on Christmas binges? The answer can be found at First&Food, the FIRSTonline magazine dedicated to the world of food: the spoiler is easy because it is a study conducted by Coldiretti, which quantifies it at 5 billion euros this year's estimated food and wine expenditure (gifts included), an 11% increase compared to the figure calculated for 2018. Moreover, the "sovereign" choice is also fashionable at the table as never before: the preference, as it should be, goes to the made in Italy and to typical products, perhaps purchased in the traditional Christmas markets, around Italy.

Like every weekend, there is also the story and profile of a starred chef: this time it's the turn of Tuscany Valeria Piccini, two Michelin stars of the village of Montemerano, which succeeded in the miracle of elevating the poor peasant cuisine of the Maremma to the level of culinary nobility. Its recipe which is proposed by Giuliano De Risi is the Acquacotta dei butteri, a simple dish which however acquires value from the genuineness of the products: the advice is to choose the quality ones, starting with the egg, to enjoy their authentic flavour.

The First&Food "menu" does not stop there and also includes an interesting curiosity about the new trends in food delivery, a market that has exploded globally with the proliferation of apps that manage orders and deliveries. The latest addition is CloudKitchens, the creation of Travis Kalanick, founder and former CEO of a "big shot" of the sharing economy like Uber. This time Kalanick tries to revolutionize the world of food with catering 90: have you ever heard of dark kitchen and ghost restaurant?
