11.30 am | THE NIGHT OF DISSONANCES
in collaboration with Roma Tre Orchestra
Carlo Bilotti Museum at the Orangery of Villa Borghese
A spacious house, the most beautiful Mozart lived in in Vienna, a select group of guests, including his father Leopold and the great Joseph Haydn, the instruments to make music together. It is in this setting that on the evening of 12 February 1785, in an apparently happy period in Mozart's life, one of his most controversial and enigmatic compositions is performed for the first time: the "Quartet for strings in C major", called "le Dissonances”. What lies behind the twenty-two bars of the introductory Adagio that have made musicologists and composers of the last two centuries pour rivers of ink, often contradictory? The will to circumvent the musical conventions of the time? The attempt to express the inexpressible, through the use of intervals "forbidden" by traditional harmony? The demonstration of the reached maturity of a genre, the string quartet?

A review of readings that proposes the theme of Christmas declined in different nuances. The proposed story by Truman Capote will remind us that when money is lacking, the problem becomes how to make those we love happy and the solution is always the inestimable value of a gesture made with the heart, like that of the protagonists of Remembrance of Christmas.
