Tvmediaweb.it, a new online weekly dedicated to the world of media and TLC, was born following the experience of Visions2030, a working group made up of managers, experts, analysts and media scholars who, since 2019, have begun to debate and reflect on the future of telecommunications and the audiovisual market in our country. The initiative, which in its most mature phase was hosted in the AgCom headquarters, took as a model what happened in Great Britain, where, starting in 2018, an animated debate on the prospects of the BBC for the next decade began.
As in the rest of the world, also in Italy the telecommunications perimeter is subjected to a continuous change of the institutional and market rules of the game. We find ourselves today on the eve of a new political season where new regulations could be written and new initiatives of great national strategic impact could be launched: see the new Rai Service Contract as well as the single network, the role of CdP in Tlc or the birth of thetower pole" between Rai Way and EiTowers.
Television, radio, web, publishing, cinema: the entire audiovisual and telecommunications system is undergoing such rapid change as to make trajectory deciphering complex. Tvmediaweb.it aims to provide tools for analysis, documentation, comparison and debate on issues and problems concerning the media of the third millennium, without however forgetting those that still survive and struggle to resist, such as the radio and the printed media. The new editorial initiative, edited by Marco Mele and Patrizio Rossano, will have weekly periodicity, without excluding "flash" publications when news of particular interest will make it necessary.
