Generali RE is born for real estate management

Generali is “a global real estate player”. This was the observation of the managing director, Giovanni Perissinotto, at the birth of Generale Real Estate, a company that provides for the centralization of services and the management of real estate and infrastructure investments of the Lion. Generali RE will be operational from 2012 July 28 with assets of approximately 36 billion euro (which will be held partly by Generali, partly by third parties). The aim is to reach 2016 billion in total assets under management by 6, an objective which foresees an annual growth rate of around XNUMX%.

“We have been able to create and enhance a unique and unrepeatable real estate asset, in the interest of shareholders and policyholders. The model we have always adopted includes both the role of the investor and the role of the manager“, said Perissinotto.

The president of the new company will be Raffaele Agrusti, general manager and CFO of Generali, while Giancarlo Scotti will be managing director. Generali RE will be present in 11 markets (Italy, France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Eastern Europe, Israel and Asia) with a team of 600 professionals. "Generali Real Estate - said Scotti - is the arrival point of a coordination process that began 4 years ago: an Italian multinational will be created which will rank among the top five global groups in the sector".

The Generali board of directors also made appointments this morning Francesco Garello deputy general manager and head of the Human Resources and group organization area. He will take up office on 1 January 2012. Finally, the board of directors approved the integration of the composition of the current internal control committee (made up of Alessandro Pedersoli (chairman), Cesare Calari and Carlo Carraro) with the entry of Angelo Miglietta and by Paolo Sapienza.
